1.Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and LSAT Lab (“LSAT Lab,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern your access to and use of lsatlab.com, app.lsatlab.com, our mobile and web applications, live and recorded classes, tutoring, AI-assisted features, community features, and any other product or service we offer (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
2.Your Account
You need an account to use most of the Service. You agree to provide accurate information when you register and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and for keeping your password and any sign-in credentials confidential. Tell us right away at support@lsatlab.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
Accounts are personal. One person may use one account. You may not share your login, lend your account to anyone else, or create multiple accounts to get around limits on free trials, guarantees, or discounts. Shared or sold accounts may be suspended without refund.
If you access LSAT Lab through a school, pre-law program, employer, or other partner organization, the partner may administer your access and may be able to see your progress data under its agreement with us.
3.Plans, Billing, and Automatic Renewal
LSAT Lab offers a free tier and paid subscription plans (currently Premium, Classroom, and Tutor). Plan features, prices, and billing periods are described on our pricing page at the time of purchase and may change for future billing periods with notice.
Automatic renewal
Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) until you cancel. By purchasing a subscription you authorize us and our payment processor to charge the payment method on file for the then-current price of your plan, plus any applicable taxes, at the start of each renewal period. If a charge fails, we may retry it and may suspend your access until payment is received.
Price changes
We may change subscription prices. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price change affects a renewal of your plan. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before your next renewal date.
Payment processing
Payments are processed by third-party payment processors (currently Stripe). We do not store your full card number. Your use of a payment processor is also subject to that processor’s own terms and privacy policy.
Discounts and fee waivers
Promotional pricing, partner discounts, and the LSAC Fee Waiver discount are available only to people who meet the stated eligibility requirements, may require documentation, and cannot be combined unless we say otherwise. Misrepresenting eligibility is grounds for cancelling the discount and the account.
4.Cancellation and Refunds
Cancelling
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by emailing support@lsatlab.com. Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep access to your paid features until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, after which your account returns to the free tier. We do not prorate or refund partial billing periods except as described below.
10-Day Satisfaction Guarantee
If you are not happy with a new paid subscription, let us know within 10 days of your first payment and we will refund that payment in full. The 10-Day Satisfaction Guarantee applies once per person to the first payment on a new subscription. It does not apply to renewals, upgrades, re-subscriptions, or purchases made after a prior refund.
Other refunds
Outside the 10-Day Satisfaction Guarantee and the Higher Score Guarantee, subscription payments are not refundable. We may, in our sole discretion, issue a refund or credit in other circumstances, such as a billing error or an extended outage of the Service.
Tutoring and classes
Scheduled tutoring sessions can be rescheduled or cancelled without charge with at least 24 hours’ notice. Sessions missed or cancelled with less notice count as used. Unused tutoring hours do not carry past the end of the subscription that included them unless we agree otherwise in writing.
5.Higher Score Guarantee
We stand behind our program. If you are eligible and meet the conditions below, and your official LSAT score does not improve by at least 5 points, we will refund 100% of what you paid LSAT Lab for your subscription.
To be eligible for the Higher Score Guarantee you must:
- Hold a paid Premium, Classroom, or Tutor subscription.
- Take a full, timed practice test on LSAT Lab within 14 days of starting your paid subscription. That score is your baseline. If you have an official LSAT score from a test taken before you subscribed, we may use the higher of the two as your baseline.
- Study with LSAT Lab for at least 2 consecutive months of paid subscription.
- Take an official LSAT administered by LSAC after completing the 2-month study period and while your subscription is active or within 30 days after it ends.
- Request the refund by emailing support@lsatlab.com within 30 days of receiving your official score, and provide a copy of your official LSAC score report.
The guarantee applies once per person, covers only amounts paid directly to LSAT Lab for the subscription (not third-party fees such as LSAC registration or LawHub), and is void if your account was shared, if you cancelled before completing the study period, or if your score was cancelled or withheld by LSAC. A refund under the guarantee ends your subscription.
6.License to Use the Service and Our Content
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own LSAT preparation. All content on the Service, including lessons, explanations, question analytics, study plans, videos, class recordings, software, and design, is owned by LSAT Lab or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
You may not, and may not help anyone else to:
- copy, download in bulk, scrape, record, redistribute, publish, sell, or share any content from the Service, including explanations, videos, and class recordings;
- use the Service or its content to build, train, or improve a competing product, dataset, or machine-learning model;
- use the Service on behalf of, or while employed by or contracting for, another test preparation company;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service;
- bypass or interfere with any security, access control, rate limit, or usage restriction.
You may print or save reasonable portions of content for your own personal study. All other rights are reserved.
7.Licensed LSAT Content and LSAC
Official LSAT questions and PrepTests available on the Service are used under license from the Law School Admission Council, Inc. (“LSAC”). LSAT® is a registered trademark of LSAC. LSAC does not review or endorse LSAT Lab, our explanations, or our teaching, and is not affiliated with us.
Licensed LSAT content is for your individual study only. You may not reproduce, distribute, or publicly display it, and you may not input official LSAT questions or passages into any third-party artificial intelligence tool, chatbot, or large language model, regardless of purpose. Features built into LSAT Lab that use AI are operated under our agreements and are the only AI tools permitted to process this content.
If you connect your LSAC LawHub account, that connection is subject to LSAC’s own terms. We cannot refund, extend, or otherwise administer LawHub subscriptions or any other LSAC product.
8.AI-Assisted Features
Parts of the Service use artificial intelligence, including the AI Analytics Assistant, AI-generated study insights, transcription of recorded sessions, and automated document checks for fee-waiver eligibility. These features generate output automatically from your study data and your inputs.
AI output can be incomplete or wrong. It is a study aid, not a substitute for the official LSAT materials, your own reasoning, or advice from an instructor. We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content, and you should not rely on it for admissions, financial, or legal decisions. Do not enter sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers or health information) into AI features.
9.Your Content and Community Features
The Service includes community features such as discussion threads, comments on explanations, questions asked in live classes, and notes. You keep ownership of what you post (“User Content”). By posting, you grant LSAT Lab a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt, and distribute your User Content as part of operating and promoting the Service. You can delete your own posts, and we will stop displaying them, but copies may persist in backups and in replies that quote you.
You are responsible for your User Content. Do not post anything that infringes someone else’s rights, that reproduces licensed LSAT content beyond what is needed to discuss a question on the Service, or that violates the Acceptable Use rules below. We may remove or edit User Content at any time, with or without notice, but we have no obligation to monitor it.
Live classes and tutoring sessions may be recorded and made available to other students. By joining a live session you consent to being recorded, including your voice, video (if enabled), name as displayed, and anything you type in chat.
10.Acceptable Use
When using the Service you agree not to:
- harass, threaten, demean, or impersonate any person, including instructors and other students;
- post spam, advertising, or solicitations, or share links to pirated LSAT materials;
- use automated tools (bots, crawlers, scripts) to access the Service or collect data from it;
- upload malware or attempt to probe, scan, or breach the Service or its infrastructure;
- use the Service in a way that violates any law, including LSAC’s test security rules;
- disrupt live classes or tutoring sessions.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or any other part of these Terms, without refund.
11.Third-Party Services and Links
The Service relies on third-party providers (for example, for video conferencing, video hosting, payments, and email) and may link to third-party websites such as LSAC. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.
12.Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. If we terminate a paid subscription for a reason other than your breach, we will refund the unused portion of the current billing period.
Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including the license restrictions, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution) will survive.
13.Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LSAT LAB DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT CONTENT (INCLUDING AI-GENERATED CONTENT) WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
Except for the Higher Score Guarantee as expressly stated in Section 5, we make no promise about the LSAT score you will achieve, your admission to any law school, or any scholarship or financial aid outcome. Score improvement statistics we publish describe past students in aggregate and are not a prediction of your results.
14.Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LSAT LAB AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, INSTRUCTORS, TUTORS, CONTRACTORS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOST OPPORTUNITIES (INCLUDING LAW SCHOOL ADMISSION OR SCHOLARSHIPS), ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID LSAT LAB IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR $100 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US ANYTHING.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
15.Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LSAT Lab and its officers, employees, instructors, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party, including LSAC.
16.Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Informal resolution first. If you have a dispute with us, email support@lsatlab.com and we will try to work it out with you within 30 days.
Arbitration. If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you and LSAT Lab agree to resolve it by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court or seek injunctive relief for infringement of intellectual property. The arbitration will take place in San Diego County, California, or remotely by video at your election.
No class actions. Disputes must be brought on an individual basis. You and LSAT Lab waive any right to participate in a class, collective, or representative action.
Opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@lsatlab.com with the subject line “Arbitration opt-out” within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. If you opt out, or if the arbitration agreement is found unenforceable, disputes will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
17.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or by a notice in the Service at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, cancel your subscription before the change takes effect. The effective date at the top of this page shows when the current version began to apply.
18.General Terms
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any plan-specific terms presented at checkout, are the entire agreement between you and LSAT Lab regarding the Service and replace any earlier agreements. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Notices to you may be sent to the email address on your account.
